Not so long ago, my sister had her first born child. This is good news, and I intended to visit... though just 'when' was still up in the air.
However, today I received a phone call on another family member that indicates any visit I do maybe longer than I intended.
My grandmother, a wonderful woman of 93 years of age roughly, fell this weekend and broke her shoulder, and banged her head. Fortunately, considering how bad it COULD have been, she's fine...relatively speaking. Soon, some tests will be done, and she'll be out of the hospital, but in physical rehab. When she gets out, the family may have to take care of her for another month, ie one of us might have to live with her for a time. We might take turns, which means, that in the next month and a half, I may end up going away for a week to live with her and care for her.
I'm not crazy about the idea, because I doubt my qualifications to be of much help... however, out of all my family, I may have the most time to do so. My parents can not afford the time off work, especially since they maybe covering a lot of her medical costs. There's no internet connection at her house, so that means I would be off the grid, so to speak. Things are very much in the air on this, but I thought I should let folks know now so that if I gave a sudden 'Gotta go, see you in a week' it wouldn't be too jarring.
If anyone has some good vibes, prayers, or well wishes to send my grandmother's way, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

~hugs~ Hope things work out well for her, and for you!
As to what to do in VD's absence, if it looks like it will only be one unexpected Friday, we can always cancel, OR, if others want or if it looks like it may be more than one week down, we can play our lower characters. I still have Lyra of couse, or we can even make a new set of 1st levels to bounce around with. Other opinions?
Good luck sweetie! Just give us the heads up as soon as you hear anything!

1) Sorry about your circumstance, and I hope she gets well and recovers fully soon
2) The players must decide collectively whether to:
a) Cancel those games
b) Create new alts from scratch
c) Choose a set of pre-existing characters of comparable level
We should decide soon, as our choice may need to be made at any moment.
I will go by what the playership decides.

I would suggest we play the 7th level set. I like Clementine.
If Mark doesn't want to keep Finley, perhaps he could generate a different character to starting 7th level?
